A Prayer for the Mind: Transform Your Thought Life
Are you having trouble focusing on God’s word, his promises for your life? Here’s a prayer to help bring your thoughts captive and regain focus on God and his plan for your life.
Lord of all creation, I want to thank you for your unchanging, everlasting word that says as long as I keep my thoughts on you and I put my trust in you, that you will keep me in perfect peace.
Heavenly Father, may I be kept in your perfect peace when doubts arise in my mind about my life, my family, or my circumstances. May I continue to seek your love and comfort, which gives me renewed hope and cheer.
Lord, may I stand on the power and authority you’ve given me to take captive every rebellious thought that goes against your word for my life and the lives of family members.
God your word says in Romans 12:2, not to copy the behaviors and customs of this world. But let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Lord, I want to be transformed by you, oh God, and I want to know your will. So search and purify my heart,
Lord, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I want to think and speak life to all that concerns me and those connected to me.
Lord, I pray for your full spiritual armor of protection.
The helmet of protection guards my mind from mental attacks from the enemy.
The breastplate of righteousness protects my heart
The shield of faith quenches the fiery darts
The belt of truth and the shoes of peace
Lord, help me not grow tired of doing what is good. For I know at just the right time I will reap a harvest of blessing if I don’t give up.
Help me not to focus on the past, but look forward to what lies ahead, things that are true, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. It is you I give all the praise, honor, and glory in Jesus’ name,
Amen!
